Unsubscribes suck. But these are worse.

I get more newsletter unsubscribers on Tuesdays than any other day.

Because Tuesdays are the day I send my newsletter.

It’s a brutal realization when you start a newsletter: some people will unsubscribe.

And it’s a blow to your pride. It stings.

“What did I do wrong? Why don’t they want to hear from me anymore? Was it something I said — or didn’t say?”

They’ve broken up with you.

And just like an ex-lover who’s told you they can’t lead you on any longer, that their heart isn’t in it — unsubscribers are actually doing you the same favor.

Because there’s a cold mistress much worse than the unsubscribed heartbreaker.

The 6 Ways Pros Monetize Their Newsletters and How You Can Do It Too by Monica Lent

Not everyone starts a newsletter with monetization goals. But if you're at all interested (and why wouldn't you be?) then this is a great article that covers 6 methods to monetize.

Important note I learned in this article: Mailchimp and MailerLite explicitly prohibit you using their platforms for affiliate marketing. Be careful. Ensure you do weekly exports of your email list in case the worst happens. Or just use ConvertKit ;)

Create content faster & easier—with a proven system.

Justin Welsh has systematized content creation like tweets & LinkedIn posts—so you can spend less time figuring out what and when to post.

The Content OS is for anyone who has valuable knowledge to share, but struggles with crafting the messaging in an engaging way.

Justin creates no-fluff, highly tactical courses. I grabbed this course the day it was launched.

[Check out this clip that gives a quick glimpse at Justin showing Cole & Dickie Bush of Ship 30 how he uses this system]

Thanks for reading and being here this week! I appreciate you reading to the end.

Most newsletters leave their sign-off as a pretty copy + paste template from week to week. I noticed Scott Barker from The Forecast would always personalize his sign-off area. I liked it. I always read it. It was fun and casual. He's the inspiration to the end of my weekly editions.

Thanks Scott.

On a more ask-y note, what did you think of this edition? Care to share your rating below in a reply? It'd be so helpful 🙏
