What You Need To Know

Substack launches Badges
In an effort to distinguish publishers who have more authority & credibility (and make the rest of us feel otherwise...), Substack has launched 3 different-colored badges depending on the amount of paid subscribers you have. That would leave me badge-less. How about you?

Save BIG with ConvertKit's Black Friday Savings
I've been using ConvertKit for over a year and LOVE it (and promptly became an affiliate, too). This Black Friday, my friends at ConvertKit are offering their biggest deal of the year: 30% off on their Creator Annual Plan. It's the plan I use and and for good reason—you'll get...

  • Automated email sequences
  • An in-house commerce tool
  • Visual automation builder
  • 70+ third-party integrations
  • And more!

Like Calendly—but way cheaper
You can use Calendly for free. But try scheduling more than one meeting duration and bam!—you're paying $8/month. TidyCal by Appsumo is offering a Lifetime Deal for $29 this Black Friday. Yes it's an affiliate link. Yes I use & love TidyCal.

With TidyCal, you can…

→ create multiple booking types
→ sync all your calendars (Google, Microsoft, Apple)
→ embed your booking widget on your website
→ book free & paid meetings
→ integrate with Zapier, Zoom, Google Meet

I've been using TidyCal for over a year now and the product works great—and keeps improving.

[GC Editorial]
4 SIMPLE WAYS to retain subscribers.

If your unsubscribe rate is climbing—like mine is—read this.

I published this article back in August.

In an ironic twist of fate, my unsubscribe rate has increased since. There could be a variety of reasons why, many outside my control. But there's something within my control I've neglected: I haven't been testing or iterating my Welcome Email & onboarding sequence.

Essentially, I'm not practicing what I preach in this article. *hangs head in shame*

And I know. These aren't the "sexy" newsletter topics. Growth & monetization are the articles most want to read—but those articles don't matter if you can't hang onto subscribers.

So instead of writing a new article this week, I focused on improving my Welcome emails, onboarding, and segmentation.

Fortunately, I have some articles in the backlog that I think are helpful—and timely—like this one.
