Cracking the Newsletter Advertising Code?

Before I started selling & booking ads in my newsletter, it thought I needed to crack some kind of code:

  • I didn’t know where to find advertisers or how to reach them.
  • I didn’t know how to pitch.
  • I didn’t know what metrics really mattered.
  • And I wasn’t sure what to charge.

I finally sold my first newsletter ad for $25 back in September of 2021, and have since earned over $10,000 in newsletter ad revenue — which only recently hit 3,000 subscribers.

Those numbers may seem small to some but significant to others.

Either way, I’m not claiming to have cracked the newsletter advertising code. I’ve tried things. Failed. Learned and iterated. And tried again. I’ve also been lucky.

But it took precious time figuring it all out. And I'm still figuring it out.

So what if we could shortcut the path to earning significant advertising revenue with our newsletters?

What if we could skip the guessing and the uncertainty—and just ASK advertisers what they want?

Well that’s what I'm planning to do. And I'm going to share it with YOU.

I want answers to everything we newsletter publishers are dying to know:

  • what’s the most effective way to do outreach?
  • does newsletter size matter?
  • what ad rates work, and which ones don’t?
  • what metrics do advertisers actually care about?
  • what types of ads have performed best?
  • what types of campaigns have failed—and why?
  • what’s the #1 reason you’ll run additional ads with a newsletter?

Answers and info will vary, of course. But we’re going to learn a LOT more about how to pitch, land, and retain advertisers. Oh the insights we'll gain!
